I have had a lot of experience working with servers, although all of my servers are running Windows Server. I have always been the go to guy for fixing friends and families computer when they broke down. I also have a roommate, Jason Stevens, that has a multi-site domain: his network at home and his network in our apartment. I've learned a lot of my computer networking skills from him. One such thing is creating a trust between our two domains, so that login credentials work regardless of whose network we are connected to.

The courses in [[ECE]] didn't help with preparing for this challenge, as they were never networking oriented. I gained some of my knowledge working as a IT Assistant for the Agricultural Economics Department at Purdue. I've always been a computer savvy person since I've been exploring operating system's settings and programs since I was young. I have the most experience with Windows, but I am also competent using Linux, whether it Ubuntu or Open-SUSE. I have done a some video editing on Mac's, but that's the extent to my knowledge on them. I always return to Windows as my primary operating server, because I have two servers that I operate that run Server 2008. They control the internet for my apartment and Active Directory, and operate as file servers. Networking my apartment with Windows Server has made the task manageable.

I will graduate in December, 2011 with my degree in BSEE. I hope to find a position where I can use the digital signal processing skills I've learned.

Q/A to Mike Wolfer

Question: Tell us a bit about yourself.

Photography and sailing are hobbies of mine. I sailed a Laser sailboat in some of the US Sailing Junior Olympic regatta's before I attended Purdue University.

Question:" What kind of background do you have that made you the right person to solve this challenge?

I have had a lot of experience working with servers, although all of my servers are running Windows Server. I have always been the go to guy for fixing friends and families computer when they broke down. I also have a roommate, Jason Stevens, that has a multi-site domain: his network at home and his network in our apartment. I've learned a lot of my computer networking skills from him. One such thing is creating a trust between our two domains, so that login credentials work regardless of whose network we are connected to.

Question:" Did the course you took in ECE help you prepare for this challenge?

The courses in ECE didn't help with preparing for this challenge, as they were never networking oriented.

Question:" When are you graduating and what do you plan to do when you graduate?

I will graduate in December, 2011 with my degree in BSEE. I hope to find a position where I can use the digital signal processing skills I've learned.
