Announcing Rhea's (Multimedia) Essay Contest!

Do you like writing? Would you like to make money? Then here is something for you this summer: an essay contest!

Write an essay on one of the following topics, and post it on Rhea by July 20, 2010. The best essay in each category will be judges by a team of students from the Rhea team. Winners will be announced August 1st, 2010.


There is no size limit or format rules. Your essay can contain text, pictures, sound, videos, equations, flow charts, C code, anything! Be inventive, think out of the box! Short essays will be considered too: the idea is to be interesting and convincing!

  • 100$: My experience with VIP
  • 100$: My experience with EPICS
  • 100$: Why do I "ECE"?
  • 100$: Why do I "math"
  • 100$: If I were France Cordova...

Topics

Instructions to participate:

  • Write your essay in the mediawiki markup language (Rhea's language).
  • Post a link to it on the corresponding subject page.
  • Make sure to post it before the July 20, 2010 deadline.

Selection Criteria

The winners will be selected based on

  • content
  • originality
  • creativity
  • clarity

Note that essay length is NOT a criteria. You may submit a very short essay, or a very long one: it does not matter. Feel free to include image, sound, videos, equations, code, flow charts, etc. Be creative! Think out of the box!
