[Reviews by Hao Lin] The slecture mainly covers the basics of ROC curves, including what it is, what it is used for, and how to obtain it. The topics are well organized and Mr. Sun presented it fairly clearly. First, the slecture goes through a simple 1-D classification example to illustrate some of the statistical terms that will be used in later discussion. A later example shows visually how the ROC curve is typically obtained in 1-D case. and the motivation of ROC curve. Finally, how to use ROC curve to measure the performance of the binary classifier is presented.
