Example

Given that a signal $ \,\! x(t)=2t^2+1 $, find the Energy and Power from $ \,\!t_1=1 $ to $ \,\!t_2=4 $

$ \,\! E=\int_{1}^{4} |2t^2+1|^2\, dt =\int_{1}^{4} |4t^4+4t^2+1|\, dt =\frac{4}{5}t^5+\frac{4}{3}t^3+t\bigg]_0^3 =905.4 $

$ \,\! P=\frac{1}{t_2-t_1}905.4=301.8 $
