* This class was not really what I was expecting. I imagined myself writing sophisticated game AI and simulating warplane flight patterns. That was a silly thing to think. The concepts are moderately difficult in this class. The projects we actually did get to work on were boolean simplification, Tic-Tac-Toe AI, and finding solutions to the N-Queens problem. One of the cool things about this class is you get to learn the programming language Scheme. If C is English, Scheme is Chinese. Learning Scheme is similar to learning your first programming language all over again because it's just so different; but that's what makes it so powerful. I interviewed with several companies who were actually looking for Scheme developers, so this is a very viable thing to learn. Word to the wise: don't take this course if you're looking for a blow-off course. Although it's not extremely time-consuming, you will want to take plenty of time to work on the solutions to the problem sets. --- [[Larry Price]]

Peer Legacy for ECE473: Intro to Artificial Intelligence

  • This class was not really what I was expecting. --- Larry Price
