An entry (for a matrix) is one element in that matrix. It can be written as a lower case letter, with subscripts showing its row and column in the matrix.

For example, in the matrix M= $ \begin{bmatrix}1 & 2 & 3 \\ 4 & 5 & 6 \end{bmatrix} $, the entry $ m_{21} $ is 4.
